Condors to Host 2025 OCAA Women’s Rugby 7s Championship
The Conestoga Condors are proud to announce that we will be hosting the 2025 OCAA Women’s Rugby 7s Championship on Saturday, October 25, at the Fountain Street Soccer Complex in Cambridge.
This is a significant milestone for our growing rugby program and a chance to welcome the province’s top collegiate women’s rugby teams to our home field for an action-packed day of competition!
The Condors Women’s Rugby 7s team continued to make strides in 2024, building on their return to OCAA action with a competitive and hard-fought season. In just their second year back in the league, the team posted a 5-9 record and finished 6th overall in the province.
One of the season’s most exciting moments came at home, when the Condors defeated Humber in a thrilling 15-10 win in front of an enthusiastic home crowd at the new Fountain Street field.
Several players also earned recognition for their outstanding performances. Abbey Anderson was named an OCAA League All-Star, while rookie Anita Ben earned a spot on the OCAA All-Rookie Team.
With a strong group of returning players and a talented incoming class, the Condors are ready to take another leap forward as they prepare to compete on home turf at this year’s championship.
“Hosting the OCAA Women’s Rugby 7s Championship is a proud moment for our program and our college,” said Andrew Bates, Director of Athletics and Recreation. “Our rugby team has made incredible progress over the past two seasons, and this event is a great opportunity to showcase not only their growth but also the strength of women’s collegiate sport in Ontario. We’re excited to welcome the province’s best to our home field.”
Make plans to join us on October 25 and be part of a great day of collegiate rugby at the Fountain Street Soccer Complex!
