Condors Varsity Recap Jan 20-25

Week in Review (Jan. 20 to 25)

The Condors continued the 2026 varsity schedule with a full slate of road and home competition. Basketball picked up a key road win at Fanshawe, volleyball faced tough tests at St. Clair before returning home to host Humber, and badminton competed at the OCAA Invitational at Seneca as preparations continue for hosting an OCAA Invitational at Conestoga in early February.


Men’s Basketball

Jan. 22 | at Fanshawe | W, 67-62
Conestoga earned a strong road win, leading 20-13 after the opening quarter and maintaining control down the stretch to secure the five-point victory. The Condors were effective inside and balanced their scoring effort, with key contributions across the lineup.

  • Terell Lloyd: 16 points, 5 rebounds, 30 minutes played

  • Ladera Obang: 12 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks

  • Jaures Brandon Kemayou: 11 points, 7 rebounds

Women’s Basketball

Jan. 22 | at Fanshawe | L, 54-38
The Condors battled on the road and controlled the glass with 47 rebounds, but Fanshawe created separation early. Conestoga’s strongest stretch came in the third quarter, where the Condors outscored the hosts 15-12.

  • Maddy Weber: 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals

  • Maliya Calvert: 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists

Men’s Volleyball

Jan. 22 | at St. Clair | L, 0-3 (19-25, 20-25, 22-25)
Conestoga was paced offensively by Tyrell Belgrove, but St. Clair’s efficiency proved decisive across three sets.

  • Tyrell Belgrove: 13 kills, 6 digs

  • Ben Mollink: 3 kills, 2 solo blocks, 1 ace

  • Walker Kalin: 3 kills, 1 ace

  • Yannick Krauss: 20 assists

Jan. 24 | vs Humber | L, 2-3 (26-24, 25-20, 21-25, 20-25, 13-15)
The Condors opened strong by taking the first two sets, then battled through a five-set match that came down to the final points. Conestoga showed resilience throughout the match, with multiple attackers contributing offensively.

  • Walker Kalin: 10 kills

  • Adam Leblanc: 8 kills, 2 solo blocks

Women’s Volleyball

Jan. 22 | at St. Clair | L, 0-3 (15-25, 17-25, 13-25)
Conestoga was led offensively by Madison Welmers, with support from Makenna Main, Hannah Cowie, and Bianca Marchetti in the three-set road match.

  • Bianca Marchetti: 6 kills

  • Hannah Cowie: 5 kills

  • Amanda Lago: 19 assists

Jan. 24 | vs Humber | L, 0-3 (17-25, 19-25, 23-25)
The Condors showed heart as the match progressed, pushing Humber to a tight 25-23 third set. Madison Welmers and Bianca Marchetti led the offence, while Madison Forrest provided efficient production in limited opportunities.

  • Bianca Marchetti: 10 kills, 10 digs, 2 solo blocks

  • Madison Forrest: 5 kills on 6 attempts, hitting .833

Badminton

Condors badminton competed at the OCAA Invitational hosted by Seneca on Jan. 23 and 24 as a tune-up for Conestoga hosting an OCAA Invitational on Feb. 7 and 8.

  • Men’s singles consolation finalist: Thinh Nguyen

  • Women’s singles consolation champion: Mariam Muqeem


Condors of the Week

Two standout performances earning the spotlight this week.

Nolan Bridge | Badminton
Nolan had a strong showing at the OCAA Invitational at Seneca, going 4-1 and capturing the men’s singles consolation bracket. A confident tune-up performance as he prepares to compete on home court at Conestoga on Feb. 7 and 8.

Terell Lloyd | Men’s Basketball
Terell was a key contributor in the Condors’ 67-62 road win over Fanshawe. He led the team with 16 points, added 5 rebounds, and logged 30 strong minutes while shooting 44% from the field.
