Condors Varsity Recap - Feb 9 - 15

Senior Night wrapped up the regular season at the Student Recreation Centre on Friday as both basketball teams hosted the St. Clair Saints in their final home games of the year. The men’s team picked up a huge win over the OCAA West leading Saints, while the women’s team delivered an impressive winning sendoff for their graduating class. On Saturday, both volleyball teams hit the road for OCAA playoff matchups, with the season coming to an end in Durham and North Bay.

The OCAA also announced their volleyball award winners this week, recognizing several Condors for their performances throughout the 2025–26 season.

Women’s Basketball

Feb. 13 | vs St. Clair | W, 75-61

The Condors closed out the regular season on Senior Night with a 75-61 win over St. Clair, fueled by an impressive performance from graduating players Jamila Beckford, Maddy Weber, and Adri Kellerman in their final game on home court. Conestoga controlled the game on the glass, finishing with a 58-37 rebounding advantage, and turned that into consistent second chance opportunities throughout the night.

Beckford led all scorers with 31 points while adding 14 rebounds and 8 assists in a dominant all-around effort. Weber recorded a double-double of 14 points and 20 rebounds, while also contributing 6 assists, helping anchor the Condors inside on both ends of the floor. Kellerman added 13 points and 4 assists as the trio combined to drive the offence in the regular season finale.

Men’s Basketball

Feb. 13 | vs St. Clair | W, 92-83

The Condors capped off the regular season with a statement win over the first place Saints on Senior Night, shooting 53.3 percent from the field and knocking down 11 three-pointers in the victory. Conestoga was able to generate offence from multiple areas of the floor and maintain control through the second half against the West Division leaders.

Ladera Obang led the way with 21 points and 9 rebounds, adding 3 steals in a strong two-way performance. Emanuel Liyaw contributed 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, finishing just two assists shy of a triple-double. Ozay Davis added 15 points, while Luka Philavong chipped in 10 points and 3 assists as the Condors closed out the home schedule with one of their strongest offensive outings of the season.

Women’s Volleyball

Feb. 14 | at Durham | L, 3-0 (15-25, 22-25, 15-25)

The Condors opened playoff action on the road against Durham and found their best stretch of play in the second set, where they pushed the Lords to a 25-22 decision. Offensively, the attack was balanced, with Madison Welmers, Hannah Cowie, and Bianca Marchetti each recording 8 kills in the match.

Althea Rabano facilitated the offence with 20 assists as Conestoga looked to generate momentum throughout the three-set contest.

Men’s Volleyball

Feb. 14 | at Canadore | L, 3-0 (31-33, 21-25, 22-25)

Conestoga battled in a tightly contested opening set that extended to 33-31 before Canadore was able to take the advantage. The Panthers maintained momentum through the second and third sets to secure the win.

Walker Kalin led the Condors with 19 kills, while Tyrell Belgrove added 17 of his own. Yannick Krauss recorded 43 assists in the match as Conestoga looked to keep pace offensively in the playoff matchup.

Condors of the Week

Two standout performances earning the spotlight this week.

Jamila Beckford | Women’s Basketball
Jamila led the Condors to a 75–61 win over St. Clair in the final home game of her collegiate career, recording 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists in the regular season finale. She now sits third all time on the OCAA career scoring list with 1,220 points, becoming the first Condor to crack the top 10. She also finishes her career with a program record 956 total rebounds.

Ladera Obang | Men’s Basketball
Ladera powered the Condors to a 92–83 victory over St. Clair with 21 points and 9 rebounds in the final home game of the season. He led the team in minutes, points, and steals in the win over the first place Saints.

Well deserved recognition for two athletes setting the standard.
