Final Week of the Fall 2025 Season
The Condors closed the fall semester with five games in four days, finishing strong behind the men’s basketball squad who picked up two impressive victories to surge into the winter break with major confidence and momentum!
Men’s Basketball
The Condors delivered their best week of the season, picking up two dominant wins to close out the fall schedule!
Thursday vs Mohawk
Conestoga 90, Mohawk 67
Against a Mohawk team that entered with a 7-1 record, the Condors made a statement on home court. After a tight first quarter, Conestoga exploded for a 37-point second frame to take control.
Emanuel Liyaw, Ladera Obang, and Terell Lloyd shared a team high 17 points, with Liyaw adding 10 rebounds for a double-double. Obang set the tone with 8 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block in a complete two-way effort, while Lloyd posted 7 rebounds. Conestoga scored 28 points off turnovers and 44 points in the paint to overpower the Mountaineers!
Sunday at Canadore
Conestoga 101, Canadore 61
The Condors carried the momentum into North Bay, piling up 50 points in the paint and shooting 51 percent from the field in a wire-to-wire victory.
Liyaw led the charge again with 14 points and 9 rebounds in just 19 minutes, while Luka Philavong scored 11 points and William Buffong added 12 off the bench.
Conestoga’s depth shined with 58 bench points and a 34-9 third quarter run to put the game away.

Women’s Basketball
Condors 38, Mohawk 81
The Condors hosted the defending OCAA champions the Mohawk Mountaineers on Thursday and competed hard through all four quarters, but fell 81-38.
Maddie Johnson was strong inside with 10 rebounds and 6 points, while Maddy Weber also finished with 12 points and 4 assists.
Julia Mullett added 7 points, the first points of her OCAA career, and Adri Kellerman grabbed 6 rebounds, but the Mountaineers defensive pressure created 32 Condors turnovers that shifted momentum their way.
The team will regroup and reset over the break and be ready to battle in 2026!
Women’s Volleyball
Condors 2 - 3 Mohawk
The Condors pushed Mohawk to the limit on Saturday afternoon but dropped a tight 3-2 battle with set scores of 25-16, 18-25, 25-18, 22-25, 12-15.
The offence was spread across the floor with 51 total kills.
Bianca Marchetti led the attack with 15 kills and 18.5 points, while Madison Welmers added 11 kills and Hannah Cowie chipped in 7 kills and solid blocking.
Althea Rabano finished with 34 assists as the Condors pushed hard in a high-energy fifth set that came down to the final few points.
The Condors have shown fight trhoughout the fall and will be ready to soar in the winter season!
Men’s Volleyball
Condors 2 - 3 Mohawk
In another thriller at Mohawk, the Condors fell 3-2 with set scores of 21-25, 27-29, 25-17, 28-26, 11-15.
The Condors rallied from two sets down and forced a fifth with an explosive fourth set performance.
Tyrell Belgrove led Conestoga offensively with 14 kills, 2 blocks, and 16.5 total points, while Walker Kalin added 15 points and Ben Mollink provided 10 kills with a team best .368 kill %.
Yannick Krauss delivered 39 assists and 8 digs, helping drive a competitive push to the final ball of the match .
Another resilient effort that sets the stage for a strong winter run!
Condors of the Week
Emanuel Liyaw – Men’s Basketball
Emanuel powered the Condors to back to back wins to close out the fall schedule. In the final home game of 2025 against Mohawk, he recorded a strong double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the 90-67 victory. He followed that up just two days later with another standout performance on the road at Canadore, leading the team with 14 points and 9 rebounds in only 19 minutes during a 101-61 win. Emanuel continues to be a force in the paint and a key piece in the Condors momentum heading into the break.
Ladera Obang – Men’s Basketball
Ladera played some of his best basketball of the season this week, making a major impact on both ends of the court. Against Mohawk, he was everywhere, shooting 70 percent from the field and tying for the team lead with 17 points, while adding 8 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block in a complete performance. He then added 6 points and 2 rebounds at Canadore to help secure another strong road win. Ladera is finding his rhythm and stepping up at the right time for the Condors.
Looking Ahead
The Condors will return to OCAA action in January 2026.
