The men’s soccer team was on the road this weekend at Algonquin College for the OCAA Final Four. In the semi finals the Condors matched up against the hosting Algonquin Wolves. The wolves has their chances but goalkeeper Pedja Jovicic stood tall to shut the door and claim the 3-2 win. The win sent the Condors to the finals against the defending OCAA and CCAA champion Humber Hawks. The semi final win also punched the Condors ticket to the CCAA National Championship in Saint Lambert, Quebec next week.
The Condors again came out strong with an early score when Luca Romano completed a beautiful header in the 12th minute to give the Condors a 1-0 lead. Late in the 1st half the Hawks had their best chance of the game when they were awarded a penalty. But again CCAA All Canadian keeper Pedja Jovicic stood tall forcing the kick wide off the post to preserve the 1-0 lead into halftime. The Condors added to their lead quickly in the second half when Marko Lesic scored his 4th goal of the weekend on a fast break scoring opportunity to give the Condors a 2-0 lead.
