The Conestoga Condors are excited to announce that Dallas Kipfer has been named Head Coach of the women’s softball program. Kipfer, who served as an assistant coach for the past two seasons, steps into the role with a strong vision for building on the team’s recent growth and success.

Kipfer’s familiarity with the roster and culture gives the Condors a smooth transition in leadership. “The biggest thing is the relationships I already have with the players,” Kipfer said. “They trust me, I trust them, and when a group has that mutual trust, they can do something special.”

In just two years on the coaching staff, Kipfer has seen the program climb from the bottom of the standings to a fourth-place finish in the OCAA, setting a new standard both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy is rooted in relatability, a skill honed through his own career as a high-level athlete and skills development coach. “I meet athletes where they’re at and help them get to where they need to be,” he explained. “It’s about pushing each player to grow while keeping the culture healthy and positive.”

From Kitchener, Kipfer’s playing resume includes national championships at the U19 and U23 levels, representing Canada on three different men’s national teams, and competing with one of the top five club teams in the world. Off the field, he operates DK Softball, a training business specializing in softball player development.

Looking ahead, Kipfer is excited about the team’s depth, speed, and pitching staff for the 2025 season. “We have 18 athletes who are used to playing every day and who will push each other to be better,” he said. “The competition within our roster will make us stronger when it counts.”

Joining Kipfer on the coaching staff this season are returning assistant coaches Mike Waechter and Emily Glendinning, who were both part of last year’s successful campaign. Together, the trio is focused on building on the program’s momentum and aiming for a top-three finish in the OCAA. “I genuinely believe we can beat any team in the league," said Kipfer, "the question is, can we do it on the day it matters most?”

Matthew Schnarr, Manager of Varsity & Community Engagement, praised Kipfer’s appointment. “Dallas Kipfer’s extensive international softball experience positions him as a valuable asset to head coach the Conestoga College Women’s Softball program. His exposure to diverse playing styles and competitive environments has equipped him with a unique perspective on the game, enabling him to impart advanced techniques and strategies to his players. Coach Kipfer has assembled a coaching staff that will foster team cohesion and collaboration which the program has been seeking in its pursuit of provincial excellence. We are excited to see what the future holds in the softball program with Dallas at the helm.”

The 2025 Condors season begins Friday, September 5 with a doubleheader against the Humber Hawks at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Budd Park in Kitchener. Under Kipfer’s leadership, expectations are high. “The suspense of what’s possible keeps me up at night,” he said. “When you’re playing with your friends and the culture is right, you can accomplish anything.”

Welcome to your new role Coach Kipfer!
